Overview
SOSi’s new Senior Events Manager will help elevate the company’s brand, thought leadership, and executive visibility through strategic events and by maximizing the company’s membership in industry associations. This role will also oversee internal employee events, such as holiday parties and employee summits.
This position will report to the Vice President, Marketing and Communications.
Essential Job Duties
Event sponsorship: identify sponsorship opportunities that reach and engage SOSi’s key audiences. Coordinate with event owners and ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations and co-marketing visibility, and that deliverables are met on time and on budget. Identify SOSi event speakers / spokespeople and ensure they are fully prepared. Staff event and drive attendance of SOSi employees, customers, and partners as appropriate.
Trade shows and conferences: lead the planning, coordination, and execution of SOSi participation in industry events. Coordinate with business units to identify key events that will support business objectives and evaluate for participation. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop event-related marketing materials and campaigns and coordinate table or booth design and layout, marketing materials, and promotional items. Manage table/booth staffing schedules and ensure all representatives are armed with key messages and talking points.
Association membership lead: serve as the point person for all industry associations where SOSi is a member. Ensure SOSi is maximizing all membership benefits. Identify and collaborate with internal association champions to ensure participation on committees and other organization leadership opportunities. Uncover opportunities to elevate thought leadership within industry associations outside of events and other sponsored activities. Foster and maintain relationships with associations, ensuring mutual benefits and long-term partnerships.
Vendor management:negotiate event agreements with vendors, partners, and venues. Manage all vendors to ensure deadlines and deliverables are on time and on budget.
Measurement and analytics: provide comprehensive reports on event outcomes, attendee feedback, and ROI. Conduct internal surveys and debriefs, and make recommendations for future improvements. Measure, and analyze event performance metrics using analytics tools; as needed, recommend how to refine event strategies and ensure future effectiveness.
Minimum Requirements
7+ years of event marketing experience with a B2B and/or government contracting (B2G) company and a proven record of creating and executing successful events that drive demand, interest, and brand awareness.
Experience with HubSpot
Excellent writing and editing skills with ability to translate company and industry jargon into customer-driven messaging.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with acute attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and build trust with individuals at all levels, including executive leadership.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited U.S. college or university.
