Strong programming skills (Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, Python, SQL) Experience of feature development to meet Automotive standards, regulations, and test protocols (USNCAP, IIHS, EUNCAP, UNECE) Experience working with safety critical systems and understanding of Functional Safety and SOTIF standards. Experience building autonomous systems or similarly complex Robotics Systems. Experience with management tools such as Jira, Confluence, JAMA, etc. Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment. Good team player with excellent communication and presentation skills. Passionate and motivated to bring ideas and concepts from R&D to production. Need to have a valid driver's license and should be able to drive on occasion. Role Summary The Autonomy Software Systems team's deliverables include owning a feature - from the definition stage to the production stage, designing the system - from system architecture to subsystem requirements and developing supervisory software for the feature. In this role, you will lead the system architecture, software design and function development of Autonomy features. Your work will have a direct impact on the daily experience and safety of our customers, which is critical to the mission at Rivian. Responsibilities Develop and deliver best-in-class Autonomy Features powered by the Rivian Autonomy Stack. Define detailed requirements for expected feature behavior and performance during various real-world driving scenarios, homologation, and consumer rating test cases. Architect solutions to meet features’ functional and performance requirements and to setup required infrastructure/methods for the data logging, simulation, and feature evaluations. Collaborate within Autonomy and external development teams to deploy above solutions in embedded or cloud environment and ensure end-to-end feature development, integration, and testing. Work across development, triage, integration, and test teams to identify, root cause, and resolve or mitigate feature issues. Coordinate with program teams on feasibility, development status, risks, limitations to effectively setup and meet program schedules. Support feasibility studies for Autonomy features in Rivian’s autonomy feature roadmap. Execute cross functional discussions by fostering consensus, even during challenging technical discussions. Pay Disclosure Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $265,00.00 - $331,300.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
