Wealth and Estate Planning Strategist (Mandarin Speaker) - San Francisco
To work with teams of investment professionals to provide clients and prospects objective information and analyses focusing on estate, gift, and income tax planning, including executive compensation/stock options planning.More specifically:Working closely with Financial Advisors and Private Wealth Advisors to build relationships with ultra high net worth clients and prospects across Asia and the USA through meetings, conference calls, etc.Simplify complex legal topics, analyses and/or structures into comprehensible terms.Compare and contrast estate planning alternatives, including gifting, leveraged gifting, insurance planning, and philanthropic structures.Review, summarize, and critique existing and/or proposed new estate planning documents.Prepare presentation materials including narrative and/or graphical summaries of documents and various strategies.Work with team analysts to understand the “numbers” behind analyses and strategies.Collaborate with clients’ attorneys and accountants in the implementation of the clients’ estate, income tax, and financial plans.Understand investment structures and how they might or might not be appropriate for various estate planning entities.Understand trust services, insurance, and similar third-party platforms and products.Keep abreast and keep Financial Advisors and Private Wealth Advisors informed of changes in the law and developing legal trends through networking with practitioners, attending seminars, and professional reading.Develop new marketing/white paper content.Conduct internal training sessions for IRs.Series 7 and 66 required (can be obtained post-hire).J.D. minimum required; LL.M. and/or accounting degree preferred.Significant prior Asian trusts and estates experience with a law or accounting firm.Broad and deep knowledge of Asian estate planning and tax planning strategies.Strong income tax background as related to estate planning strategies.Asian cross-border knowledge essential.Fluent in Mandarin mandatory; Cantonese as a second language beneficial.Location:
