We're seeking a future team member for the role of
SALES DIRECTOR
to join our
GROWTH VENTURES: Data & Analytics
team. This role is located in New York City/Los Angeles/Toronto.
BNY Mellon's Data and Analytics is a leading software and services business in the financial services industry. We are hiring for an experienced, results-driven Sales professional with responsibilities within a specified market segment.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways: Working with the Head of Sales, this position will effectively develop and qualify sales leads, build customer relations and close essential business. Successful candidate will engage in continuous, interactive and highly personalised dialogues that drive company revenue and customer satisfaction across North America. Must be innovative, highly enthusiastic, and motivated to work in a growing, high potential market segment. Will have direct responsibility for developing new client relationships, and will also be expected to assist with the implementation of sales/sales support plans to meet overall objectives.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following: Proven record of successful meeting and exceeding monthly/quarterly/annual software sales quotas. Ability to identify key decision-makers within prospect companies. Capable of building and maintaining strong customer relationships in region. Experience in the financial industry required, with a strong preference towards ASP/Cloud solutions solution sales. Desire to work in a team environment, wherein time-sensitive and business-savvy decisions must be made in order to best meet client expectations and company goals. Should have good presentation skills. Bachelor's degree or equivalent education or equivalent work experience required. Relevant sales position experience within Financial Services required. Extensive travel across North America is likely to be required.

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred. 7-10 years of total work experience preferred. Financial Services experience with a particular client type or product (Hedge, Pension, etc.) preferred as is prior experience in a related customer-facing role, Sales Support, Global Capital Markets or Product Management. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business. A good understanding of the relevant marketplace, competitive landscape and industry drivers in the relevant region is preferred. As a global firm, bilingual capabilities are helpful as is an understanding of local/cultural nuances important for client trust.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $113,000 and $220,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
