Description: The leader in wireless sensor networking, a technology company with accelerated growth, is seeking a Sr. Product Manager (Marketing). The environment is casual-professional and offers competitive pay, stock options, a 401K plan, health insurance, and other benefits.
The Senior Product Manager-Software is responsible for the software product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle. This includes gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. This person will build products from existing ideas and help to develop new ideas based on industry experience and contact with customers and prospects. The Product Manager reports to the Director of Product Management. Primary Responsibilities:
Define the product strategy and roadmap for the software-based products and applications. Deliver MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification. Work with external third parties, including sales channels and key customers to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities. Work with Product Marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customers. Work with an engineering counterpart to define product release requirements. Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples. Be an expert with respect to the competition. Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years experience as a Product Manager. Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products. 5+ years of experience in the transportation market. Bachelor's degree in Technical Field or Business. Technical background, with experience in software product management, with an emphasis on server-based network management and user interface design. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. Must be able to travel 25% of the time. Examples and at least one sample of an effective document delivered in the past.
