University of Maryland, Baltimore Community Program Specialist or Senior Specialist

The Collaborative: A Healing Centered Community at University of Maryland, Baltimore has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, caring, and team-oriented Community Program Specialist or Senior Community Program Specialist. This is a contractual position. Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary. The mission of The Collaborative is to prevent, intervene, and heal from trauma and violence in all forms. We accomplish our mission through partnerships between grassroots, non-profits, city agencies, and institutes of higher education by engaging in service provision, education, and research.Benefits Information:

Tuition remission for Contingent Category II employees who are part-time will be prorated in accordance with their FTE; and flexible work schedules and teleworking options (if applicable per job).Primary Duties:Assist in the management of the internal and/or external community programs by monitoring progress and operations program components and ensure the highest quality programming for all participants.Coordinate program development and implementation that requires significant assessment, evaluation, and intervention utilizing best practice/promising practice models.Develop and maintain relationships with groups, individuals, or families’ partners to create a network of supportive services needed for program users to be successful.Develop and facilitate workshops, meetings, or conferences; coordinate logistics, scheduling, and participant communications.Maintain and facilitate program data in compliance with programmatic reports required by sponsors.Provide routine and non-routine technical advice, problem-solving assistance, and answer questions.Develop and prepare written products such as training materials, website content, final progress reports, and promotional materials.Assist in evaluating program effectiveness to develop improved methods.Interact and maintain liaison/partnership with students, faculty, staff, and agencies in facilitating program objectives.Perform other duties as assigned.Education:

Bachelor's degree. Degree in social sciences, such as social work or psychology preferred. Master's degree may be required based on associated licensure.Experience:

Two (2) years community program coordination, development, oversight, or administration.Certification/Licensure:

Licensure required based on need of program.Other:

Related experience to program may be substituted for education.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledge of position requirements, applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts.The Hiring Range for the Specialist is in the mid to high $50,000s, commensurate with education and experience.
