Sr. Data Modeler

Location: Charlotte, NC Type: Full-Time Required Skills/Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in design and deployment of logical and physical structures preferably in the Banking Risk Area (Counterparty Credit Risk Data Domain knowledge) Minimum 5 years of experience with Erwin data modeling tools Minimum 5 years of experience with development and deployments on MSSQL platform Experience with large, high volume databases is preferred Experience performing data profiling Experience in Data Mart, Dimensional Modeling, Data Warehouse modeling Ability to work successfully with technical and non-technical groups, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills In-depth understanding of both Relational and Domain Modeling techniques Understanding of BI Reporting Responsibilities: Translate business and data requirements into logical data models in support of Enterprise Data Models, OLTP, Operational Data Structures, and Analytical systems Understand database performance factors and trends pertaining to very large database design and collaborate with DBAs to implement mitigating physical modeling solutions Perform source data analysis, data discovery, and data profiling Provide data structures optimized for information entry and retrieval Effectively communicate data design to other members of the team to ensure proper implementation and utilization of the data structures Support development team during design process and during performance tuning Participate in both business & IT planning and in the development & management of project plans Lead design of Logical and Physical Models Support ongoing data modeling efforts for Development and Production environments Contribute to the development of processes and guidelines for Data Modeling
