Central United Methodist Church, Shelby, NC has an opening for the position of Director of Youth Discipleship. The Director of Youth Discipleship will build strong disciples of Christ by developing and implementing a comprehensive approach to youth ministry in the areas of relationship-building, worship, discipleship, mission and outreach, while serving as a spiritual leader and role model. Including coordination of children’s ministry is an option that may be considered if appropriate.Responsibilities
Being available for youth at functions beyond the local church settingBeing an advocate for the youthCoordinating curriculum and volunteers for all youth programmingProviding caring support to youth and their familiesCommunicating effectively using available mediaServing as a liaison with community organizations related to youthWorking with the Youth Council in visioning and planningDeveloping youth leadershipCompleting general administrative and budgeting tasksAssisting the pastor with confirmationQualifications
