We are searching for a Technical Program Manager to help oversee complex research and development (R&D) projects, prototype development and transition to production. In this position, you will manage hardware, software and firmware development teams and encourage an efficient workflow. This may involve adjusting work schedules or implementing process improvement tactics. You should be familiar with the Agile project management method and the associated tools, such as JIRA. Our ideal applicant has a strong technical background with a bachelor’s degree in science, math, or engineering, several years of research and development or early prototyping experience, and some experience as a team lead or manager. You should also be comfortable using program management software and methods.Duties and Responsibilities
Perform project planning. Work with the project technical lead to establish technical direction.Supervise program teams and delegate tasks. Assess the productivity of your team and adjust schedules and timelines as necessary.Monitor project progress. Evaluate and present project cost, schedule and performance. Produce reports on progress.Resolve problems, whether they be technical, schedule, cost or process related.Ensure stakeholder satisfaction – team, customer, company leadership.Support pursuit of follow-on opportunities.Assist with technical mentorship, performance assessment, goal setting, and related developmental activities.Assist with hiring and training new team members.Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in science, math or engineering.Technical background in at least one area of opto-mechanical design, control systems, EO systems, or embedded software. Aerospace research and development experience is a plus.3+ years of project management experience. Good knowledge of project management principles. Program Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.Experience with Agile Development. Certified Agile Product Owner or Scrum Master is a plus.Be comfortable in a dynamic environment.Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Experience with DoD programs, processes and requirements is a plus.Systems engineering experience and mindset is a strong plus.What you can expect:
