Dole Packaged Foods is looking for a highly motivated and strategic Brand / Business Manager who will lead one of our categories on the Snacking & Pantry team. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of this category, managing the P&L, developing the innovation pipeline, and creating/executing annual operating/marketing plans that lay out the vision and drive sustainable sales and profitable growth. Accountable for in-depth knowledge of the category and Dole’s consumer, he/she will provide thought leadership into connecting each marketing mix element to create engaging brand experiences and delivering best in class execution.

The candidate will be exposed to challenging opportunities within a highly competitive category and rapidly changing market conditions.

As such, an entrepreneurial mindset is a must.

This role provides flexibility to work in a hybrid environment of home and our Westlake Village, CA office. Hybrid is defined as three times per week in the office.

Responsibilities

Maintain full P&L responsibility, with the ability to forecast, react to, and deliver financial performance according to quarterly and annual financial objectives and revenue, volume, and EBIT targets/commitments.

Identify industry, consumer and competitive trends and make recommendations for action plans and programs based on key learnings, both immediate and longer-term vision/strategy needed to ensure long-term growth objectives.

Lead brand/category portfolio management and cross-functional teams including short and long-term innovation pipeline for the Portfolio, renovation/line extensions, packaging changes, price/pack architecture, cost savings initiatives, and commercialization process.

Create market launch plans to guarantee success in the marketplace driving delivery of business objectives for the brand including net sales, operating profit, gross margin, and market share.

Establish priorities and strategic direction for all marketing activities including advertising, promotions, packaging, sales, and trade marketing.

Analyze custom/syndicated data to identify and respond to category trends, competitive activity, health metrics and consumption trends; share actionable insights with cross functional team members and senior leadership.

Partner with Market Research in developing strategic qualitative and quantitative research to identify consumer, customer and competitive insights and trends that justify development of new products, optimization of existing products, and sound marketing campaigns; disseminate insights knowledge across the organization.

Partner with agencies in developing and executing annual integrated marketing plans that communicate the unique value proposition and positioning of each of the lines within the Portfolio and amplify brand desirability.

Work with Sales to create and execute sales plans for key customers to significantly grow market share and product distribution while improving customer profitability.

Collaborate with Net Revenue Management (NRM), Channel & Category Development partners to create category strategies and guidelines that optimize company revenue via brand price & pack architecture, managing portfolio and channel item mix, and refining promotion plan across channels/customers/regions.

Work with Supply Chain in managing inventory levels to improve working capital and reduce the risk of obsolete inventory.

Provide direction and coordinate with other functions such as consumer insights, sales, manufacturing, procurement, distribution, legal and finance as necessary.

Qualifications

3-5+ years of brand management experience; high preference for CPG experience in food & beverage.

Proven track record identifying and implementing successful product lifecycle & integrated campaign strategies and plans with clear brand equity and business impact.

Effective communication skills, with the ability to develop compelling stories and strategic plans for both internal and external parties and influence key stakeholders.

Proven success in new product development (concept ideation through product commercialization and launch).

Strong organization and project management skills, including the ability to lead cross functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education & Certification:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required.

MBA is highly desired.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit and use the computer for extended periods of time; ability to lift 15 pounds and reach overhead.

Travel Requirements:

Approximately 10-15% travel required, generally within the U.S.

FOR JOBS BASED IN CALIFORNIA:

Hiring Pay Scale: $120,000.00 to $140,000.00
