ResponsibilitiesDesigns and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options. Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network. Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:

5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD. Additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree.

A current Top Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain/pass a polygraph.

Experience in the design, development and deployment of AWS cloud-based network solutions.

Expertise in designing and implementing VPCs, VPC routing, and VPC security.

Strong AWS/security aspects/Amazon products/transit gateway.

Experience interfacing with in-house software developers to understand the business applications, cloud tools, and requirements to design efficient network and security solutions.

Layer 2 and Layer 3 hands-on configuration experience, with emphasis on routing protocols BGP, and OSPF. Knowledge configuring GRE and IPSEC Tunnels.

Desired Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience working in a highly collaborative client-facing environment.

Proven experience preparing and presenting technical documentation to various audiences including other technical engineers and executives.

Hands-on experience in maintaining and supporting large enterprise systems in a production environment.

Ability to work on multiple assignments or projects in parallel, balancing time and schedule based on the business.

Understanding of AWS infrastructure and services including but not limited to EC2, EBS, S3, CloudWatch, Cloud Trail, API Gateway, Route 53, Transit Gateway, etc.

Target Salary Range$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
