Description of the PositionThe postdoctoral researcher will join an effort to develop a “Spray 2” next generation underwater glider. The postdoc will assist the principal investigator and professional engineers in the design, construction, and field testing of prototypes. The postdoc will take a lead role in documenting all aspects of the project, including writing up processes and procedures and organizing written material. The postdoc will liaison with industrial partners and should pay special attention to the user interface. If the project is fully successful, the possibility exists for the postdoc to transition to industry.Qualifications Required and Preferred Academic BackgroundAppointment Length/Period18 months: July 2019 – December 2020.Application ProcedureApplications must include a CV, a brief personal statement of experience and career goals, and contact information for three references.
