We are deeply invested in supportingdive...About the jobThis position will oversee our legal team’s corporate and securities practice, including matters relating to public company reporting and corporate governance, M&A transactions, ESG, investor relations, subsidiary management, and equity operations. Providing counsel and strategic guidance regarding disclosure requirements, 34 Act filings, proxy statements, and other matters related to SEC regulation will be central to the role, as will be leading the corporate aspects of our ongoing international expansion. Success in this role will also require building strong relationships with and becoming a trusted advisor to our executive team and Board of Directors.Twilio’s legal team is rapidly growing and scaling to serve customers around the globe with increasingly sophisticated problems to solve. We assist the company in navigating the complex legal and regulatory environments in which our business is evolving, responsibly managing risk while facilitating growth and innovation. We’re looking for a stellar leader to join our dynamic team and build upon our already strong foundation.ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:

Advise on and direct legal matters relating to M&A, Securities, ESG, investor relations and equity administration;Oversee the team responsible for all corporate legal matters and continue to build it by recruiting and hiring key talent;Ensure that we are appropriately scaling our corporate processes and systems to keep pace with our company’s growth;Work with team leads and cross-functionally across the business to ensure that risks are being managed intelligently;Work closely with and provide support and guidance to our Board of Directors and its committees;Partner closely with the Chief Legal Officer on myriad aspects of legal strategy and corporate oversight.

We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!Required:Minimum 15 years of relevant legal experience and 5 years in-house leadership building, running, and/or developing robust corporate legal teams;Deep familiarity and demonstrated experience with corporate transactional matters, integration efforts, M&A, securities, ESG, and investor relations, and with managing each of these areas through significant organizational growth;High comfort level with a wide range of legal issues and subject matters;Effective and empathetic management skills, and experience empowering teams to achieve at consistently high levels;Proven ability to effectively influence, lead, and collaborate with others at all levels;High personal standards of excellence and ethics, as well as the ability to act with discretion, strict confidentiality, and sensitivity towards issues and individuals;Public-company experience, including familiarity with public-company board and governance matters;Licensed and in good standing with a state bar.
