The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Minnesota is seeking a full-time ABA board-certified/eligible Cardiac Anesthesiologist. Academic rank, compensation, and appointment track will be based on qualifications and experience.The University of Minnesota Medical Center is a quaternary care academic institution with an adult and congenital cardiac surgical program that cares for about 1000 patients per year. The Department of Anesthesia is committed to creating a legacy of discovery, innovation and compassion in patient care, research and education of leaders in anesthesiology. The Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia is specifically focused on three areas of care delivery: Enhanced Recovery after Cardiac Surgery (ERACS), right heart failure and pulmonary hypertension, and bloodless cardiac surgery.Details include:We are responsible for caring for patients undergoing CABGs, valve replacement/repair surgery and combinations thereof.A larger proportion of patients are undergoing aortic surgery including aneurysm repair and dissections.We perform ~50 heart transplants and ~60 VADs per year.We perform ~70 lung transplants per year.We have a strong relationship with the cardiac surgeons, collaborating in research quality improvement, and participating in cardiac surgical M&M.We have a Cardiothoracic Fellowship Program with 3 fellowship spots.We have a growing cardiac resident rotation that accommodates 2 residents per month (otherwise, CRNA staff are involved). Faculty do not sit their own cases.The Faculty is actively presenting at national meetings and publishing in recognized anesthesia journals.We have a strong mentorship program and ample research and QI opportunities for those interested.There is ample opportunity for formal resident and CTA Fellow teaching in and outside the OR.Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited ACGME Anesthesiology residency and/or fellowship training program.Board eligible/certified with the ABA.Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota.Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
