The College of Professional Studies seeks qualified individuals to apply for an Adjunct Faculty position in Facilities Management. The College offers professional educational programs for the Sustainability Facility Professional (SFP) and is seeking adjunct faculty to provide the highest quality and broadest range of instruction that provides necessary skills and tools to be successful in an ever-changing work environment. Our faculty are dedicated to providing our students excellent teaching, but more importantly, to provide an experience of learning that relates real-world experiences to the material students learn.Villanova is a Catholic university sponsored by the Augustinian order. TEACHING
Conducting in a professional manner all class hours as assigned by the course schedule and academic calendar.Creating a professional course syllabus that meets Faculty Syllabus Checklist requirements.Preparing and submitting accurate and precise attendance rosters, student grades, book orders, and other assigned documents when due.Utilizing University Instructional Design Tools and resources such as Blackboard, Canvas, Novasis, and web technology tools to administer tests, record attendance, conduct classes, and submit grades.Creating, administering, and accurately assessing substantive assignments and activities that require critical thinking.Meeting classes on time and for the full duration of the published class time.Attendance at college-wide meetings and events.Maintaining alternative educational activities that students may use in the event of an unexpected emergency.Supporting and following college policies and procedures.ACADEMIC ADVISING
Providing accurate academic advising to students whenever needed.Participating in advisor in-service training.Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree required for adjunct faculty.Proven ability to teach successfully both in the classroom setting and online utilizing web technology tools.Strong understanding of adult learning principles and theories.Preferred Qualifications
Specific knowledge of Blackboard, Canvas, and other Instructional Design Tools as well as Web Conferencing Tools.Required certification in the field of Sustainability – SFP Sustainability Facility Professional.Prior higher education teaching experience required.Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
Standing for periods of up to 3 hours at a time.Courses are taught primarily at night between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and also on Saturdays.Transcripts will be required of all finalists for this position.References Needed
