Job Status: Full-TimeJob Description / Primary ObjectiveWe are seeking a conservation professional with a background in preventive conservation and a keen interest in education to fill a four-year limited-term Associate Project Specialist position in the Getty Conservation Institute’s Collections Department. In this role, you will be an integral team member of the multidisciplinary Managing Collection Environments Initiative, which conducts research, education, and field activities that address technical and practical issues pertaining to the sustainable control and management of collection environments in museums, libraries, and archives.
This job will begin in the office full-time. The opportunity to request a telework schedule may be available after an initial period of training and orientation and will be discussed and approved by your supervisor.Requirements (Education, Level of Experience, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree in conservation, museum studies, archaeology, science, or a related disciplineMaster’s degree in cultural heritage conservation (ideally, preventive conservation or museum studies) or equivalent practical conservation experienceMinimum of 3-7 years of project management experience working in cultural heritage conservation (ideally, collections care or preventive conservation)
