The Vice President of Student Services provides leadership and is responsible for the administration of a comprehensive student services program supporting the College's access and student success missions and the promise of transforming lives through education. The Vice President is responsible for planning, coordination, and evaluation of all College student services programs with the aim of enhancing student recruitment/engagement, access, retention, and completion. This position is responsible for upholding student rights and responsibilities within the context of federal and state mandates. The Vice President reports directly to the President and is a member of the president's executive leadership team.Essential Functions:Provides leadership for the Student Services division and collaborates with the president's executive leadership team in support of the College's vision, mission, values, and strategic plan.Provides leadership and expertise in enrollment management pertaining to outreach and recruitment, onboarding, retention and completion, including serving as the executive lead for the strategic enrollment leadership council.Builds organizational capacity in relation to recruitment and outreach, specifically data-driven recruitment strategies, community engagement, K-12 partnerships, and effectively engaging traditionally underserved populations.Provides leadership that leverages organizational capabilities to create effective, results-oriented systems.Provides leadership in support of strategic initiatives, policy development, accreditation compliance, and outcomes assessment.Provides leadership, guidance, and vision for the College's athletics program.Provides leadership, guidance, and vision for student life activities and programs, including providing direct support to the Student Government Association.Provides leadership and support for Guided Pathways programming in collaboration with the Office of Instruction.Supports the College's CARE and Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT).Oversees planning for College commencement ceremonies through a college-wide committee.Develops and implements effective strategies designed to enhance student retention.Provides leadership and supervision over functional areas of the College.Ensures compliance with the Standards for Student Services of the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.Advocates for student-centered decision-making that advances the diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging of all WWCC students.Promotes professional development opportunities for student services employees.Provides leadership for student wellness, mental health, prevention of substance abuse programs and training.Collaborates with internal and external partners to remain current and future-focused for student services programs and activities.Assorted Responsibilities:Serves as Student Code of Conduct Officer; responsible for enforcing the Student Code of Conduct and ensuring due process.Works collaboratively and in coordination with the CARE Team/BIT.Serves as the Student Services' Division's ADA/Section 504 Compliance Officer.Provides situational guidance and management of judicial affairs as stated in WA RCW 9A.44.138 (Sexual Offender Registration), Cleary Act and in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.Remains current with regard to federal and state financial aid programs and regulations.Participates in institutional and community service opportunities.Represents the College on the Washington State Student Services Commission and other appropriate local and state/regional meetings and boards.Participates in College outreach activities and events.Serves on the college-wide Emergency Response Team and assists with campus emergency incidents.Serves on various College committees and performs other duties as assigned by the president.Competencies:Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.Demonstrates administrative leadership.Identifies and implements programs to address College needs in a complex and dynamic environment.Experience supporting student success among Latin populations.Exhibits strong management skills, ensuring employee and departmental accountability.Demonstrated budget planning and administrative skills.Exhibits excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Demonstrates high standards of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:Manages professional and paraprofessional staff.Budget Authority:Acts as signature authority for Student Services and Service and Activities budgets.Oversees administration of grants to enhance Student Services programs.Qualifications:Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered at the discretion of the college.

Required Qualifications:Master's Degree in applicable disciplines from an accredited institution of higher education.Five or more years of progressive management responsibility in higher education.Experience in student services in higher education.Desired Qualifications:Doctorate degree in counseling, educational leadership, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education.Experience managing student codes of conduct and hearings.Experience developing strategic enrollment management plans, student retention and completion plans.Grant writing and management experience.Bilingual, specifically in Spanish/English.Experience administering Title IX athletic programs, preferably in a community college or other higher education setting.You don't check every qualification listed? Persons hired must be able to provide acceptable documentation of lawful authorization to work in the United States within three (3) days of employment. The college is a tobacco free institution.Work is performed almost exclusively indoors in an office environment. Exposure to hazards is limited to those commonly found in office environments. This contract position work schedule will typically be Monday through Friday 8-hours each day. During the summer, work schedule is Monday through Thursday 10-hours each day. Out of town travel is required to visit other College campuses. Frequent contact with students, faculty, staff, members of the community, and community partners.Compensation:Annual salary range for initial placement based on the non-represented exempt salary schedule: $143,152 - $161,963. The college has an excellent benefit program including paid sick leave; paid vacation leave; medical, dental, life, and long-term disability insurance; retirement and two optional deferred compensation programs. All full-time employees will automatically have 3% of taxable income deferred into the State of Washington Deferred Compensation Program (DCP). All administrative exempt staff set aside 1% of their gross salary in a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) (VEBA). All exempt employees are required to participate in this program.
