Job Description - Staff Optometrist (3226034)Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Director and Ophthalmology appointed Medical Director, works independently using accepted optometric procedures to examine and care for patients requiring comprehensive eye examinations, low vision care, emergency ward follow up care, glaucoma co-management, and same day service attention. An emphasis on low vision care for patient populations such as age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, post stroke, traumatic brain injury, and inherited retinal disease.Minimum Qualifications
Doctor of Optometry degree with Massachusetts License in Optometry, one-year ACOE accredited residency training program (ocular disease and low vision preferred), and fellowship or candidacy for fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry. In addition, proficiency in assistive devices for patients with low vision. Current and recent graduates of low vision residency or fellowship are encouraged to apply as well as those with longer clinical experience.Equal Opportunity Employer
