Job Description - Senior Specialist - Financial Reporting and Accounting (11007083D20240516)Senior Specialist - Financial Reporting and AccountingStamford, CT | New York, NY | USAThe successful candidate will be responsible for the financial accounting and financial reporting of the AXA XL ILS Capital Management, Ceded reinsurance and Alternative Capital vehicles. Providing analysis to the investors and management. Ensuring internal and external reporting is complete and accurate. Maintain open communication between all levels of management related to Ceded Reinsurance. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to any stakeholder as well as take initiative and demonstrate accountability.What will your essential responsibilities include?
Prepare annual audited and/or unaudited financial statements for directors, investors and the BMAPreparation of Monthly/Quarterly Financial Statements for investorsPreparation of NAV and submission of NAV to investorsLiaise with external auditors and assist with year-end audit queriesOrganize the preparation, review and settlement of bordereau reportsAssist in the continuous development and improvement of Ceded Re and Alternative Capital financial reporting.Prepare robust analysis of ceded variances to Budget, Forecast and other Internal ReportingDeliver formal presentations of NAV/results to senior internal/external stakeholders.Develop and manage collaborative cross functional relationships between various teams, including, but not limited to, Operations, Ceded Re, and Divisional Finance.Maintain robust organizational and planning skills to support productivity and efficiencyYou will report to Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Accounting, Ceded Reinsurance.We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
CPA or other accounting designationExtensive auditing experience of large reinsurance companies or moderate experience in reinsurance accountingCeded Reinsurance and ILS experience would be an assetMust demonstrate sound knowledge of GAAP as it relates to the reinsurance industry and alternative investmentsWillingness and ability to work long hours during peak periodsMust be proactive and able to meet challenges as they ariseProven efficiency in ability to multitask with attention to detail.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access)Knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 17 is desirableAbility to multi-task and interact with all levels within the organizationBe a good team player contributing to the overall culture of Ceded ReHas good communication and interpersonal skillsDisplay excellent stakeholder management skills as well as results driven.AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA
