Nurse Manager

The Nurse Manager is a key leadership role within the health center that ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care in compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. The Nurse Manager works closely and collaboratively with the practice managers within a dyad model, providing clinical oversight and supervision for nurses.

Essential Functions:

Supervise and mentor a team of RNs and LVNs.

Assess staff development needs and plan ongoing education programs, in collaboration with practice managers and other roles as needed.

Ensure that nursing staff meet both safety/risk management standards and legal/regulatory requirements.

Oversee patient care quality through observations and chart reviews.

Ensure that clinical staff have current certification and licensure requirements.

Recruit, retain, and evaluate nursing staff.

Articulate, teach, interpret, and enforce health policies, protocols, and procedures.

Manage specialized program areas such as Quality Improvement, Utilization Management, Infection Control, or Epidemiology, as required.

Provide clinical supervision and professional development of the nursing staff.

Develop clinical workflows, protocols, policies, and procedures related to nursing functions and duties.

Collaborate with practice managers to ensure nursing functions are met and are aligned with care team unit quality standards.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Current unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license.

BSN required, MSN preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a management role.

Experience working in an FQHC or similar healthcare setting.

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Knowledge of federal healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
