Job DescriptionSummary:The Team Lead will directly supervise and coordinate the activities of laborers daily performance. The Team Lead will perform tasks involving physical labor at parking lots by measuring, remarking, and laying out parking lot bays, characters, numbers, and stencils using a mechanical striping machine along with being accountable for driving a pickup and trailer. This position requires routine repair and maintenance of equipment in addition to other duties. The Team Lead will communicate daily the project status with key stakeholders in the project and ensure that all materials are installed to manufacturers' specifications for the project and all work is completed within Rose Paving standards.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate situations and suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crews
Coordinate work activities with Project Manager, Operations Manager, and Superintendent
Record daily job information such as personnel, production time, material, equipment and operational data on specified forms and reports to be turned in daily
Assign work to laborers, based on material and work requirements of specific jobs
Order or requisition materials and supplies as directed by the Superintendent and Operations Manager
Ensure proper jobsite signage is displayed at each project
Take pictures of projects (i.e. before/after, Warranties, Accidents)
Check and monitor weather on a daily basis
Clean and prepare jobsite to eliminate possible hazards for crew and public
Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zone
Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines such as mechanical striping machines
Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met
Set up and tear down equipment
Load and unload, 5-gallon buckets of paint along with striping machines from trailers
Apply paint top pavement in accordance to manufacture specifications
Apply paint through the use of a mechanical striping machine
Facilitate safety meetings and crew mini-huddles
Navigate to and from work sites
Assist in other work activities and maintain physical condition of warehouse
Lead other teams with special tasks when deemed necessary by the Operations Manager or Superintendent
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED is required
Two to three years of experience as a Team Leader, Foreman or Supervisor preferably in the paving industry
Three to five years of experience in Asphalt and/or Striping is highly desirable
Position requires stamina to meet demanding schedules, frequent long hours including nights, weekends and occasional Holidays
Must be available to work overtime as required
Some out-of-state travel may be required
Valid Driver's License is required
