1Position Summary:The incumbent will promote a culture of quality and standards of excellence for the Blood and Marrow Transplant patient, donor and their families. In collaboration with key BMT stakeholders, the navigator will be required to promote changes to improve quality and patient safety throughout the BMT program. In addition, the navigator is responsible for oversight related to BMT quality requirements and compliance as required by various regulatory agencies.Salary Range:Required Qualifications:Current CA RN licenseAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadMust demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishAll external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in NursingDemonstrated practice with and knowledge of chemotherapy agentsMinimum 6 months experience working as an RN in an Inpatient or Outpatient Oncology setting OR 1 Year clinical experience and recent completion of cancer basics class from Oncology Nursing Society within previous yearBasic Life Support certification requiredMust possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned dutiesPreferred Qualifications:Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and familiesOncology/Hematologic Malignancies patient population knowledgeDemonstrated knowledge of immunosuppressive therapies and care of the post-transplant patientKnowledge of complications associated with hematological oncology conditionsConditions of Employment:The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
