Responsibilities:
The Director of Safety and Security reports to the Senior Vice President. The Director of Safety and Security is responsible for establishing a global security program that protects employees and company assets. This position will be responsible for safeguarding employees and assets by establishing measures to protect and reduce risk. This position will oversee all aspects of the organization's safety and security operations as well as the development and implementation of global security policies and procedures. He/she will also manage critical tools and resources that support the protection of employees and company assets. The Director of Safety and Security will be the operational head of the Organizational Resilience Program, including direct responsibility for Emergency Response, Crisis Management, and Business Continuity. The Director of Safety and Security will be the primary responder when an emergency occurs in the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Employee Protection and Safety
Develop and implement programs and standard operating procedures to protect employees and create safe and compliant work environments, including a global travel safety program.
Develop and implement a training component to educate and empower employees regarding their safety while operating and traveling.
Monitor global risk and provide timely support for employees who may require assistance.
Provide effective assistance in every location where the organization conducts business worldwide.
Asset Protection
Safeguard the organization by establishing measures to protect and reduce risk to physical, informational, financial, and other assets.
Conduct risk assessments on the organization's global assets to deploy resources effectively.
Investigate incidents that cause damages or losses to the organization's physical assets.
Collaborate with the Facilities Team to recommend physical security measures during the development phase of future assets.
Organizational Resilience
Manage the organization's Crisis Management and Business Continuity program development and implementation.
Serve as Facilitator for Emergency Response, Crisis Management, and Business Continuity during an actual event.
Prepare for possible events based on predictive intelligence.
Manage the business relationship with International SOS (ISOS) and Control Risks Group (CRG).
Manage the Emergency Notification tool and process – Send Word Now.
Manage the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
Specific Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Act as the primary contact/responder during emergencies, disasters, or potential events.
Facilitate coordination of Emergency Response, Crisis Management, and Business Continuity Teams during incidents.
Responsible for the overall safety and security of the organization's employees and their families.
Proactively address risks faced by the organization operating in 36 countries.
Lead Emergency Response preparations globally.
Manage the Security Operations Center (SOC) and intelligence predictive measures.
Identify goals and objectives consistent with the corporate strategic plan.
Lead a network of external security service vendors/providers.
Develop security and crisis management programs to support employee safety.
Oversee incident response planning and investigation of safety concerns.
Partner with other departments to develop comprehensive business continuity plans.
Provide leadership for the Crisis Management Program.
Maintain relationships with law enforcement and governmental agencies worldwide.
Facilitate the Organizational Resilience Steering Committee.
Brief executive management on security matters.

Qualifications: Key competencies: Demonstrated security expertise suitable for a Global Security Director for an organization operating in 36 countries. Strong leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to lead transformational change. Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. Success in advocating new ideas and integrating best practices. Solid project management skills. Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking. Willingness to travel globally. Education and/or Experience: A Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degrees in business are preferred. Minimum of 10 years private sector security experience, including at least 5 years in leadership roles. Application:
