:Shift: M-F 9 am to 5:30 pm, no mandatory OT, but if needed Manager will inform contractor ahead of time.HIPAA privacy analyst, will investigate and respond to privacy incidents for various states. Handling PHI, receiving PHI, route cause analysis.Responding to internal client HIPAA questions, and external member questions. Review data lost prevention information, record or respond to vendor pharmacy reports.A minimum of 4-5 years of HIPAA compliance or privacy experience.Provide guidance and support for HIPAA compliance activities as a member of HIPAA Program Management Office (PMO).Areas of responsibility include assessing the operational compliance of business unit operations, development of policies and procedures, review of PHI requests, review of business associate agreements, execution of projects and consulting on business development initiatives.Essential Functions: Develops, maintains and revises policies and procedures on the appropriate use and disclosure of PHI and other HIPAA standards.Provides guidance to subsidiary staff regarding state-specific privacy requirements and helps ensure policies and procedures are matched with appropriate processes and controls to promote compliance.Assists in managing the organization’s privacy incident response process including investigation, mitigation, reporting, training and remediation.Performs ongoing monitoring of Business Associates Agreements and third party data sharing/use agreements.Plans and conducts audits and reviews to assess departmental and business unit compliance with HIPAA and contractual requirements and accreditation standards. (Note: travel may be required.)Assists with the development and provision of HIPAA privacy and security training, education and awareness. Initiate, facilitate and promote activities to foster privacy and security awareness within Molina Healthcare.Consults on and supports business development initiatives (mergers and acquisitions, etc).Assists with government inquiries, compliance reviews or investigations related to information privacy or security, in collaboration with health plan Compliance staff and Legal Affairs.Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state privacy laws and accreditation standards, and monitors advancements in information privacy technologies to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance.Fosters a team environment.Works cooperatively and collaboratively with HIPAA PMO co-workers and HIPAA Project Team members.Performs other duties as assigned.Adheres to organization and department policies, procedures and protocols.Complies with required workplace safety standards.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
:Proficiency with PC-based applications, thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including Access, Excel, PowerPoint & Word), MS Visio and MS Project.Ability to learn new information systems and software programs.Ability to assess and mitigate risks and, if required, independently review controls.Strong written and oral communication skills.Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.Independent judgment and initiative in identifying and resolving problems.Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills.Must be organized and flexible.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to abide by policies.Maintain regular attendance based on agreed-upon schedule.Maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with co-workers, clients, members, providers and customers.Required Experience: 5+ years’ experience in healthcare compliance or information privacy compliance.
