Salary Guide:

An integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector. They have over 1,000 staff working across eight regional centres, primarily supporting long-term water sector frameworks.The Role:

Strengthening their Design Management team with a Senior Design Manager role based in Northern Ireland, with hybrid working available.You will report directly to the Regional Engineering Lead (Operational) and Technical Discipline Lead for Design Management (Functional). Your role will cover Design Management of projects awarded by NIW under their recently awarded framework.Responsibilities:

Commit to excellence in Health & Safety (H&S) in design, complying with relevant local specifications, codes, rules, regulations, and requirements.Identify and manage H&S hazards, communicating residual risks effectively.Lead the Design team to ensure a focused approach to meet customer requirements and project objectives.Be accountable for expenditure, efficiency challenge, and overall outturn costs for the design element of project delivery.Organise all elements of Design, documenting it in the Project Management Plan and preparing monthly status update reports.Attend and contribute to all relevant programme, project, and technical meetings.Ensure technical solutions outperform on costs while maintaining quality standards and timely delivery.Provide technical support during Assembly and Commissioning stages as required.Ensure all technical work adheres to the correct Standards and Specifications, following appropriate Systems of Work and Quality Assurance procedures.Contribute to achieving sustainability targets, particularly by reducing embodied and operational Carbon Footprints.Communicate and work effectively with people from other partner organisations, backgrounds, and disciplines.Experience:

Extensive experience in multi-disciplinary design management in a design-build environment.Degree in an engineering-related discipline.Chartered Engineer in an engineering-related discipline.Delivery-driven with the ability to set targets and manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams.Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety.Strategic, operational, technical, and management skills.Good general knowledge of all aspects of water treatment (civil engineering, process engineering, electrical engineering, and project management).Ability to present technical proposals clearly and convincingly.Able to travel within the region as required.Bonus:
