Job Summary:

The candidate should have an established track record in conducting independent research, publishing novel scientific findings, and obtaining extramural funding. The candidate will be responsible for reading the appropriate literature, writing manuscripts, submitting grant proposals, supervising technical staff, and directing post-doctoral fellows. Participate in Departmental teaching activities, lecturing in areas of expertise, directing courses as appropriate, and developing new courses that may benefit the University.

Candidate will also expand academic accomplishments by publishing and presenting faculty member's research at national and international meetings, and obtaining extramural funding. Individual will be expected to maintain an extramurally funded independent research program. Mentor postdoctoral fellows, MD/PhD students, and graduate students, assisting these individuals to develop their research and teaching skills. Manage resources provided, regardless of the source, in compliance with University Governing and Administrative Regulations, Commonwealth Statutes, and other federal policies on the management of research.

Required Education:

PhD, MD/DO, or MD/DO & PhD degree

Required Related Experience:

Shall have at least three years of research experience, an established track record of independent research as evidenced by first/last authored papers and/or extramural funding and evidence of potential for growth as a supervisor and educator.

Required License/Registration/Certification:

PhD, MD/DO, or MD/DO & PhD degree
