A law firm is seeking a Projects (Regulatory) Associate Attorney for their Austin, TX office. The candidate will primarily handle regulatory aspects of energy projects across the country, with a specific emphasis on power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, and grid/transmission issues within the renewable energy sector.Job Overview:Manage regulatory aspects of energy project development, financing, purchase/sale, and operation.Specialize in power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, and grid/transmission issues in renewable energy.Duties:Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on regulatory matters pertaining to energy projects.Draft and review power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, and related project documents.Provide legal guidance and support on compliance with FERC electricity regulations.Assist in the due diligence process for energy project financing and transactions.Communicate effectively with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders.Requirements:4-8 years of legal experience with a focus on FERC electricity regulations.Exposure to project finance or energy transaction documents is preferred.Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks within the renewable energy industry.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the Texas Bar.Skills:Proficient in legal research methodologies and analytical reasoning.Competent in drafting and reviewing legal documents with meticulous attention to detail.Knowledgeable about regulatory compliance processes and procedures.Excellent interpersonal skills for client interactions and stakeholder management.Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
