Jan 25, 2024Profile:A law firm based in Dallas, TX, is seeking a Tax Credit and Impact Finance Associate Attorney with 0-5 years of transactional experience and a strong interest in community development transactions utilizing new markets tax credits (NMTCs), historic rehabilitation tax credits (HTCs), and/or renewable energy investment tax credits (RETCs). The ideal candidate will join our growing Tax Credit & Impact Finance group, bringing expertise in NMTCs, HTCs, and RETCs. Commercial real estate experience, commercial lending experience, structured finance, and/or general federal income tax experience are also valuable for this role.Duties and Responsibilities:Conduct legal research and analysis related to tax credit and impact finance matters.Draft and review legal documents, agreements, and contracts associated with community development transactions.Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Provide legal advice and counsel on matters related to new markets tax credits, historic rehabilitation tax credits, and renewable energy investment tax credits.Assist in negotiating and structuring complex transactions in the field of tax credit and impact finance.Requirements:0-5 years of transactional experience.Strong interest in community development transactions using NMTCs, HTCs, and/or RETCs.Experience with NMTCs, HTCs, and RETCs is helpful.Commercial real estate experience, commercial lending experience, structured finance, and/or general federal income tax experience are beneficial.Active license to practice law.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active license to practice law.Skills:Excellent writing and analytical skills.Superior academic performance.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when necessary.Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
