Job Title: Mid-Level Complex Litigation AttorneyJob Overview: A law firm in Providence, RI, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Mid-Level Complex Litigation Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of academic achievement, exceptional writing skills, and a talent for courtroom advocacy. They must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of communication and administration. The role requires handling cases from inception through trial, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting depositions, and representing the firm in a manner that enhances its reputation.Duties:Handle cases from inception through trial, including drafting discovery pleadings and motions and taking and defending depositions.Formulate and develop case strategy and advise clients on risk mitigation and pre-suit resolution options.Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as Westlaw.Manage the discovery process and supervise junior attorneys and staff with document review projects.Participate in the firm’s professional activities, including client intake and trial preparation.First or second chair trial experience required.Argue discovery and dispositive motions.Interview clients and witnesses.Handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis.Requirements:5-8 years of litigation experience in state and federal courts.Bachelor’s degree and J.D. Degree.Strong record of academic achievement.Strong oral and written communication skills.Knowledge of state and federal court procedures.Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis.Licensed to practice and in good standing in at least one of the following states: MA, RI, NY, TN, NS, SC, or FL.A high degree of initiative, mature judgment, and discretion.Organization and time management skills.Certifications:Admission to the Bar in at least one of the following states: MA, RI, NY, TN, NS, SC, or FL.Skills:Excellent communication and administrative skills.Highly organized and detail-oriented.Ability to multitask without sacrificing efficiency.Talent for advocacy in the courtroom.Experience with mediation and arbitration preferred.
