Placement on the adjunct faculty salary schedule is based upon education and credited experience. Pending any course assignment, initial placement can range as follows: Lab Course - $75.48 up to $103.03 per hour. Lecture Course - $87.88 up to $118.85.Position Type:

The Colleges seek a part-time faculty member in Kinesiology & Team Sports. The ideal candidate will share the Colleges’ commitment to educating a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population.This position is a “pool” position meaning that openings may or may not be currently available. The District maintains a “pool” of applications for positions which are needed on an ongoing basis at Cañada College, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College. Your application for this position will be kept current for a period of two years.Duties and Responsibilities
Teach classes as assigned from the current curriculumEstablish relationships with community, including students, faculty, administration, staff, San Mateo County and contiguous high school coaches, media, and businessesParticipate in the development and/or selection of course materials, equipment and technology that will enhance offerings in the departmentMaintain expertise in current teaching and discipline technologiesConsult with students during regularly scheduled office hoursServe as a member of division and college committeesPerform other duties as required by contract, collective bargaining agreement, and general institutional needsDevelop curriculum and modes of instruction in Kinesiology, and assist in curriculum revisions and new course developmentMinimum Qualifications
Possession of any Bachelor’s degree AND two years of professional experience OR an Associate degree AND six years of professional experience OR the equivalentCurrent CPR/First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain certification before assignment beginsPossession of a valid California Driver’s License (or the ability to obtain one)Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staffConditions of Employment
Prior to employment, the selected candidate will be required to complete the following:Submit official transcriptsSubmit verifications of prior employmentSatisfactory referencesSuccessfully being cleared for employment through the background checking processPresent original documents for proof of eligibility to work in the United StatesApproval of your employment by the SMCCCD Board of TrusteesProvide a certificate of Tuberculosis exam for initial employmentHave fingerprints taken by a Live Scan computerEEO Statement
