A law firm in Midland is seeking an experienced Oil and Gas Title Attorney with subject matter expertise in oil and gas law. The successful candidate will conduct title examinations, draft title opinions, provide legal guidance on transactions, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.Duties:Possess subject matter expertise in oil and gas lawConduct title examinations to determine ownership of oil and gas propertiesAnalyze relevant documents such as deeds, leases, and contractsDraft title opinions highlighting ownership rights and any issues affecting property useConduct due diligence reviews for oil and gas transactionsProvide legal guidance on risks, liabilities, and mitigation strategiesDraft, review, and negotiate agreements and contractsStay updated on federal, state, and local laws and regulationsCollaborate with litigation attorneys if legal action is requiredFoster teamwork and collaboration among team membersActively pursue continuous learning opportunitiesSupport other projects as assigned or dictated by business prioritiesRequirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license with 1+ years of experience drafting title opinions covering lands in TexasFamiliarity preparing large, unit-wide division order ownerships with tract and allocation factorsPrevious work experience as landmen, in-house legal and compliance attorneys, oil and gas finance executives, or counsel at a state regulatory agencyExceptional commitment to ethical practice and client confidentialityExcellent interpersonal communication skillsPassion for professional development and skill enhancementStrong organizational and multitasking abilitiesBenefits:Competitive salary commensurate with experienceExcellent healthcare benefits (health, dental, vision, etc.)Additional insurance optionsFlex holidays and 401K match programQuarterly team-based bonus system
