The ideal candidate must be licensed to practice in Florida courts and possess a proactive approach to working both independently and within a team.Duties:Draft, prepare, and handle pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda.Conduct legal research competently and with proficiency.Prepare and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions.Prepare and take depositions of parties and experts.Review client documents, draft case evaluations, and status report correspondence.Review, assess, and handle matters from inception to trial.Assist with and participate in mediations and court appearances.Interact directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, colleagues, and staff.Requirements:Prior experience in Worker's Compensation defense is preferred.Must be licensed to practice in Florida courts.Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong legal research and analytical skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong attention to detail with superb organization and prioritization skills.Ability to handle a caseload involving substantial litigation defense.Knowledge of both state and federal court procedures.Proficiency with MS Office including Excel, Outlook, and navigating the internet.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the Florida State Bar.Skills:Proactive and self-motivated work ethic.Ability to move from case to case efficiently.Proficiency in handling a variety of practice areas such as workers' compensation.Strong interpersonal skills for effective client and colleague interactions.
