The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in civil defense litigation in both state and federal courts. They should possess a strong background in aviation law, product liability, and/or premises liability. The candidate must demonstrate excellent research, writing, pre-trial discovery, and deposition skills. Additionally, the ability to work independently and within a team setting is crucial. Trial skills and experience would be advantageous. The candidate should be organized, self-motivated, and capable of handling files with minimal supervision. Illinois Bar admission is required.Duties:
Handle civil defense litigation cases in state and federal courts.Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.Prepare cases for trial, including pre-trial discovery and deposition preparation.Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.Collaborate with colleagues and support staff on case strategy and execution.Attend hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings as required.Requirements:
4+ years of experience in civil defense litigation.Experience in aviation law, product liability, and/or premises liability preferred.Excellent research, writing, pre-trial discovery, and deposition skills.Trial skills and experience (preferred).Strong organizational and time management abilities.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team.Education & Certifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the Illinois Bar.Skills:
Proficiency in legal research tools and software.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
