Auditor/Internal Audit (Asset Servicing Business Unit)Northern Trust is recruiting for an Auditor to join the Asset Servicing International (ASI) audit team, who will contribute as an audit team member to the planning and execution of successful audit engagements, as well as act as an Auditor-in-Charge (AIC) on smaller audits. In this role, the Auditor will actively engage with senior members of the Northern Trust Asset Servicing business teams to support the Audit Manager and/or AIC in executing the ASI audit plan. Specifically, the Auditor will be responsible for influencing the development of the audit’s scope, performing and documenting walkthroughs, executing control testing and documenting the associated results, as well completing ad hoc or project management-related tasks as needed. The role also involves utilizing technical expertise, including data analytics where relevant, and collaborating within a global team of auditors within the audit team.The key responsibilities of the role include:•

Conducts cross-jurisdictional audit engagements of ASI activities such as fund services and administration, security servicing, front, middle, and back office activities, relationship management and client servicing, credit, banking, data analytics etc. with attention to addressing the highest risks in sufficient detail•

Accurately designs and executes the testing approach and ensures that work paper documentation is clear, concise, supports the reviews performed, and explains decisions made during the project to perform an assessment of relevant controls in alignment with Audit Methodology•

Provides technical expertise and applies analytical skills to review information where relevant•

Actively communicates the audit status to audit stakeholders and Audit Services management in a clear and timely manner•

Compiles findings and recommendations for the purpose of status updates, memos, and audit reports•

Follow-up on audit issues and assist other audit staff with audit issue validation testing•

Assist with ad hoc non-audit projects to contribute to the ongoing growth of the team and department as needed•

Works collaboratively with team members across multiple jurisdictions and cultures.

Skills/ Qualifications:•

Proven assurance experience gained (2 years) within internal audit, external audit, monitoring or testing functions in a financial institution, regulator or consulting environment•

Demonstrated knowledge and/or interest in financial services activities•

A desire and ability to work in a changing and dynamic global work environment, with an occasional willingness to flex working hours, as needed, to ensure effectiveness of a global team•

Proven ability and desire to flex between independent and teamwork•

Ability to meet deadlines•

Proven solid communication skills, both written and oral•

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially in Excel•

Experience in identifying opportunities to utilize data analytics methodologies•

Be a critical thinker and have the ability to analyze and challenge current processes•

Proven project management skillsThe successful candidate will benefit from having:•
