The City of Vacaville is seeking a dynamic and accomplished Director of Parks and Recreation to join our team. This leadership role is crucial in shaping the future of our community’s recreational landscape.

Under general direction of the Assistant City Manager, the Director of Parks and Recreation serves as a member of the City’s executive team and will oversee and guide the daily function of the Department and long-term vision set forth in the City’s Strategic Plan. They will implement policies and establish procedures related to Department functions and will develop and administer the Department budget, approximately $11 million.The Director staffs the Parks and Recreation Commission and acts as liaison to a variety of community organizations and stakeholder groups. The Director ensures public outreach and community engagement are a priority and oversees all aspects of park planning and design.The Director, currently supported by two Recreation Managers, a Management Analyst, and an Executive Assistant, provides professional and technical guidance to 26 full-time and over 200 part-time employees.Salary Information:$172,033 - $209,086/annually

and

at least seven years of increasingly responsible management experience in public recreation and community service.
