General Description / Purpose:
The BBB is an Iconic brand that's been a staple in the Chicago community for over 95+ years. Our directory ranks within the top 1% of website traffic in the world and attracts a highly engaged audience looking to work with trusted BBB Accredited Businesses. We have an opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic Outside/Outbound Business Development Specialist to present the value of BBB Accreditation in-person settings to companies in the Chicagoland market. The ideal candidate has strong experience in walking tradeshows, networking events, home shows, and Chamber events to develop new business relationships.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Your role is essentially to get our business owners to decide on BBB Accreditation, either "yes" or "no." Not all businesses can become accredited, and not all businesses should, so your role is to help business owners who should become accredited, become accredited!
You are expected to reach out to 50-75 business owners per day to ensure that you are putting yourself in the best position possible to submit at least 12 BBB Accreditation applications per month.
You will be using a mix of internal databases, your own self-sourcing, and/or manager-provided leads to call.
You are also expected to help represent BBB at local events as needed.
You must be able to present to potential prospects the mission and vision of the BBB at these in-person events.
Qualifications:
1-2 years in-person sales experience and 1-2 years outbound phone sales experience (though we are willing to consider candidates with a comparable background)
HS diploma or higher
Valid Driver's License
Reliable mode of transportation
Dependability and high degree of ethical character
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated to consistently deliver high quality work and results
Working knowledge of online marketing and review-oriented sites and social media
Cold calling experience
Attendance and promptness
Results oriented
Willingness to go the extra mile
Delivery of superior customer service, internally and externally
Participation as a team player
Open to coaching and implementation of suggested strategies and techniques
Commitment to learning new skills, tools, and techniques.
Ability to work independently - and in a team environment.
A positive attitude, a can-do spirit, and a strong work ethic.

Spanish speaking a plus

$42,000/year + Commission
