Associate Director, Biostatistics

This is what you will do:The Associate Director, Biostatistics has sufficient experience working as a statistician in the pharmaceutical industry to independently perform and lead statistical work within a project, an indication within a more complex project. This individual is able to lead, and direct biostatistics work either in house or partnering with CROs to ensure delivery to quality and time.You will be responsible for:The Associate Director, Biostatistics may work as a lead statistician:For a project or indication in clinical or preclinical therapeutic areasLeading the delivery and oversight on a multiple studies/indication within a project, potentially as a Global Project Statistician for a standard drug projectContributing to statistical methodological advancesAccountabilities for supporting projects directly include:Lead the statistical thinking and contributions to the delivery of studies, development plans, regulatory strategy, health technology assessment and/or commercial activitiesDirect project work, including statistical staff and/or CRO partners, to ensure delivery to standards, quality, and timeDevelop design options and provide high quality decision support to enable the business to make informed decisions about a study or projectQuantify the benefit, risk, value, and uncertainty of the emerging asset/product profileInvestigate and apply novel statistical approaches, for relevant statistical issues and/or regulatory guidance and/or value demonstration, including modelling and simulationLeverage standardization to maximize global data integration and interpretabilityMentor/coach and support the education and training of statistics staffYou will need to have:MSc/PhD in Statistics, Mathematics (containing a substantial statistical component), or recognized equivalent to stats MScStrong knowledge of programming in R and/or SASKnowledge of the technical and regulatory requirements related to the roleExcellent communication skills, and ability to build strong relationshipsFlexible, well-organized, and possess the ability to work well under pressureThe duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.We would prefer for you to have:PhD in Statistics/Biostatistics is preferred.Project management skillsProficiency in SAS and R languagesKnowledge of Bayesian statistics from theory to computation is a plus.
