ContractRole: Data Modeler [Azure Cloud services and Banking/Financial background]Location: Minneapolis, MN day 1 onsiteInterview: Phone/SkypeJob Type: Contract W2 preferredResponsibilities:• Lead Data Modeler and Development: Lead the design and development of SQL Server databases, including data modeling, schema design, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.• Cloud Migration: Lead the migration of the existing MS SQL Server implementation to a cloud-ready solution, ensuring that the data model and database architecture are optimized for the cloud environment.• Azure Integration: Collaborate with the IT team to integrate MS SQL Server with Azure services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics, leveraging the benefits of cloud-based data management and analytics.• Strategy Alignment: Ensure that the data model and solutions align with the client's roadmap and strategy for cloud adoption, providing recommendations and implementing best practices for cloud readiness.• Team Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership to a team of SQL developers, overseeing the design and development of database solutions while driving the adoption of cloud technologies within the team.• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest developments in MS SQL Server and Azure technologies, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance, scalability, and security of the database solutions.Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.• 10+ years of proven experience as a SQL Server Developer or Database Administrator, with at least 5 years in a lead or senior role.• Expertise in database design, T-SQL programming, performance tuning, and database administration.• Strong understanding of relational database principles and best practices.• Extensive experience working with MS SQL Server, including database design, development, optimization, and administration.• Cloud Experience: Preferable for the candidate to have exposure to cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, with a suggested certification such as AZ-900.• Data Modeling Expertise: Adept at data modeling for MS SQL Server, with the ability to design efficient and scalable database structures.All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
