We are currently seeking an experienced executive who will have the opportunity to help lead the continued growth of our C-Corp Compliance and Provision practice. This position is responsible for overseeing various tax compliance, tax planning, and accounting for income taxes related to CFGI’s Clients. The successful candidate will work with business lines, service providers, and other tax professionals in fulfilling their responsibilities. Initially, tax work is not expected to require 100% of the executive’s time for project management and billable work as they will also perform other tasks including:

Key Responsibilities:

Interviewing and recruiting new tax team members to work under their direction.

Business Development activity, including building relationships with the accounting partners at CFGI.

Identifying additional revenue streams within our clients.

Reconciling deferred tax assets/liabilities for clients.

Following up on state tax questions and audits, engaging other tax departments and SMEs as needed.

Reviewing and signing complex federal and state tax returns for clients as a paid preparer.

Monitoring state and federal tax laws for compliance or opportunities for clients.

Managing and building a team of professionals.

Managing and retaining multiple client relationships/engagements.

Developing overall engagement budgets.

Consistently meeting CFGI’s chargeable hour goals.

Managing billing and realization on assigned clients and explaining variances.

Communicating effectively with clients and team members.

Leading practice development activities in conjunction with upper management.

Presenting information effectively and responding to questions from clients and team members.

Mentoring junior team members.

Traveling as required by the business.

Building effective long-term relationships with clients.

Understanding what it means to “run your own business” as part of the CFGI team.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related business field; CPA and/or MBA or Master’s in Tax is preferred.

A minimum of twelve years of related tax experience is preferred.

Tax and GAAP accounting experience required.

Comprehensive tax consulting experience and expertise in federal and state tax laws and regulations.

Excellent analytical, supervisory, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated integrity, accountability, flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to accept coaching.

Leadership competencies including good judgment, initiative, innovative thinking, and strategic planning.
