The Director of Human Resources oversees the human resources function. This position develops policy and directs and coordinates human resources activities such as employment, compensation, employee relations, benefits, training, and employee services.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Develops and administrates human resources policies and procedures.Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill positions.Manages and administers benefit plans by working with agents regarding coverage levels and designs, working with employees on enrollment, and being available to answer questions.Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.Coordinates and delivers management training in areas such as interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.Conducts wage surveys within the labor market to determine competitive wage rates.Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plans.Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets top management information needs.Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Maintains current knowledge of relevant employment legislation and court decisions.Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward Company goals.Administers performance management programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.Administers salary administration programs to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity within the organization.Manages worker's compensation program working with the carrier and works with the Safety Committee on reporting.Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews as required to determine reasons behind separations.Represents the organization at personnel-related hearings and conducts investigations.Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as temporary employees, search firms, or relocation services.Keeps the correct parties informed on all abnormal or critical situations.Participates in and supports continuous improvement efforts throughout the plant.QualificationsBachelor's degree in human resources or related field.5 to 7 years in the human resources field; experience in manufacturing preferred.Experienced in training employees and setting up training programs.Must have exposure to workers' compensation administration.Working ConditionsThough work is performed predominately in an office environment, this role must be able to work in a production and manufacturing facility.
