SALARY RANGE: Program Specialist III, SR-20: $4,690.00 - $5,713.00 per month Program Specialist IV, SR-22: $5,076.00 - $6,177.00 per month Program Specialist V, SR-24: $5,713.00 - $6,949.00 per month This posting will be used to fill various Program Specialist positions at the specified location. The authorized level of these positions is Program Specialist V. Applications are being accepted down to the Program Specialist III in the event of recruiting difficulties. All new external applicants will be placed on the initial step of the salary range. However, placement above the initial step of the salary range will be based on special characteristics and critical needs of the position, an applicant's exceptional qualifications, the availability of funds, and other relevant factors. Assigned to the School Food Services Branch (SFSB), which is responsible for providing technical assistance and oversight to school food service programs in the Hawaii State Department of Education and to provide nutritionally balanced meals to a maximum number of children at a minimum unit price. Plans, develops, coordinates, implements, monitors, and evaluates the branch's dietetic program and school food services operations. Serves as food and nutrition expert and is responsible for statewide menu and recipe planning and development. Education Requirement:

Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a bachelor's degree. Excess work experience as described under the Specialized Experience, below, or any other responsible administrative, professional or analytical work experience which provided knowledge, skills and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college or university curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Specialized Experience Requirement:

One and one-half (1-1/2) years for the Program Specialist III, two and one-half (2-1/2) years for the Program Specialist IV, and for the Program Specialist V, three and one-half (3-1/2) years of progressively responsible professional experience which demonstrated the ability to conduct studies and analyses of programs or projects through active participation in the planning, coordination, development and/or evaluation of programs and/or program activities. Registration Requirement:

Applicants must be currently registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Certification Requirement:

Applicants must possess a valid food handlers training level certification from the Hawaii Department of Health, American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited organizations, or equivalent organization as determined by the Hawaii Department of Education. Driver's License Requirement:

Applicants must possess a current, valid driver's license. Requirements:

Applicants must meet all the requirements for the position they are seeking as of the date of the application, unless otherwise specified. Calculation of experience is based on full-time, 40-hour workweeks. Part-time experience is pro-rated. Temporary Assignment:
