https://www.hcvt.com/services-federal-qualified-opportunity-zoneAs a Tax Manager – Opportunity Zone Specialization, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:Assist clients with large capital gains in structuring their Opportunity Zone Funds and Opportunity Zone Businesses for maximum deferral and operating efficiency.Build technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities, and applies them to client situations.Develop and maintain strong client relationships with key stakeholders and prospective clients.Monitor federal and state legislation.Assist with OZ-related articles and technical presentations.Work closely with clients to advise on income tax issues and tax planning.Provide high-level review of federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and as it pertains to the federal Opportunity Zone program.Responsible for meeting engagement timelines and budget guidelines.Provide job status updates to partners and client personnel in a timely manner.Oversee planning and scheduling of client engagements.Supervise expectations of engagement teams, project manager and maintain due dates.Research technical and complex tax issues.Manage, coach, and provide ongoing feedback to Seniors and Staff.Effectively utilize and train others on firm tax preparation software.Develop strong relationships with firm professionals and clients.Attend networking events and participate in staff and senior level trainings, recruiting events and firm activities.Ensure high quality of work product.To be successful, these are the skills and experience you will need:5+ years of experience depending on relevant work experience.Bachelor’s degree; Master’s Degree in Taxation a plus.A licensed CPA or Enrolled Agent.Proficient knowledge of Subchapter K and handling complex partnership returns.Some exposure to the federal Opportunity Zone program is a plus.Demonstrated management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.High emotional intelligence with the ability to influence and resolve operational issues.Can learn, teach, and supervise in a fast-paced environment and is receptive to feedback and coaching.Ability to identify and propose resolutions to complex tax issues.Has a high level of attention to detail.Has a positive attitude and a team player mentality with a can-do spirit.Advanced Microsoft Office skills.Proficiency in Thomas Reuters, GoSystem, ProSystems or equivalent is preferred.You Matter - HCVT provides a variety of benefits and perks that help sustain a healthy and thriving work environment.Visit the
