The ideal candidate should have superior academic credentials, be admitted to at least one State Bar, and ideally be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Candidates with a Ph.D., excellent writing, interpersonal, and communication skills, and 2-6 years of experience in drafting and prosecuting biotechnology patent applications are preferred.Duties:Draft and prosecute biotechnology patent applications, including preparing responses to Office Actions.Conduct patentability searches and analyses.Perform freedom-to-operate, validity, and infringement analyses.Provide strategic IP counseling to clients in the biotech industry.Assist with patent litigation and post-grant proceedings before the USPTO.Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to at least one State Bar (New Jersey preferred).Ideally registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Advanced degree (Ph.D., M.S., or equivalent) in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmacology, or life sciences.2-6 years of experience specifically in drafting and prosecuting biotechnology patent applications.Certifications (Preferred):Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Skills:In-depth knowledge of biotechnology patent law and regulations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Proficiency in legal research tools and MS Office Suite.
