POSITION & RESPONSIBILITIESThe Wolfsonian–Florida International University seeks a Deputy Director for Curatorial, Exhibitions, and Collections. This senior position provides leadership, strategic direction, and day-to-day oversight of the integrated operations and work of the Wolfsonian's curatorial, exhibitions, and registration/collections teams, aligned with the vision, mission, and strategic goals of The Wolfsonian. Working with the Director and Wolfsonian leadership, the Deputy Director will foster initiatives utilizing curatorial activities, exhibitions, and collections to engage, educate, and inform the public, increasing institutional awareness, attendance, and audience participation through dynamic and forward-thinking projects. The Deputy Director will be responsible for overseeing the management of complex museum and library collections numbering more than 200,000 items and lead a multi-year campaign to reorganize the museum’s collection storage configuration, with the aims of promoting both accessibility and sustainable preservation. The Deputy Director will also collaborate closely with the Director, Development Director, and other members of leadership to shape fundraising, donor cultivation, and external affairs strategies that drive support for the institution to enhance its reputation locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.As a chief content officer, the Deputy Director must be committed and accountable to the excellence of scholarship, public outreach, audience development, collections care and display, and institutional development. Leading and overseeing team members in all areas of exhibition, curatorial, and collections management activities, the Deputy Director will establish objectives and review processes for the departments and personnel in their charge, guiding and evaluating staff to optimize performance and encourage personal growth.SALARY:
