Senior Tax Accountant - Trust & Estate Tax (Public Accounting Firm - Wilmington, DE 75-110k)

A flexible, hybrid schedule is available with this opportunity!SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing public accounting client. This role requires a specialization in trust and estate tax, where you will play a key role in providing exceptional tax services to their clients with complex trust and estate needs. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex trust and estate tax returns, managing client engagements, and mentoring junior staff.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review federal and state fiduciary income tax returns for trusts and estates.Prepare and review complex estate tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.Advise clients on tax planning strategies for trusts and estates, including generation-skipping transfer tax minimization and charitable giving.Research and analyze intricate trust and estate tax issues, staying current on the latest laws and rulings.Manage client engagements from initiation to completion, maintaining clear and consistent communication.Review trust and estate tax returns prepared by junior staff and provide constructive feedback.Train and mentor junior staff on trust and estate tax concepts and procedures.Communicate effectively with clients to gather information, answer questions, and address trust and estate tax concerns.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, potentially developing new business opportunities.May assist with trust and estate tax audits and respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies.Utilize tax software programs specifically designed for trusts and estates (experience with software like UltraTax Estate or CCH ProSystem Estate Plus is a plus).QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public accounting, with a strong focus on trust and estate tax.In-depth understanding of federal and state trust and estate tax laws and regulations.Proven experience in preparing and reviewing complex trust and estate tax returns.Excellent research and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.Superior written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with clients.Proficiency in tax software programs for trusts and estates (experience with specific software is a plus).
