page of our website.Positions in this occupational field are engaged in providing animal health services for the State with the mission of reducing incidence of prevalent zoonoses and other animal plagues of economic importance to the animal industry, and specifically to prevent the introduction of animal diseases which are transmissible to animals and man by conducting disease surveillance and investigations, inspecting animal production operations, inspecting imported animals at the port of entry, and to provide a quarantine service.Positions at this level conduct inspections of animals imported into the State at ports of entry for compliance with state laws, rules and regulations; and perform other related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications

Basic Experience:

Applicants must possess at least

ONE (1) YEAR

of experience which demonstrated the ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions, and write simply and directly.General Experience:

Applicants must possess at least

ONE(1) YEAR of work experience in the care and handling of large and small animals.Specialized Experience:

ONE (1) YEAR of experience in livestock inspection, quarantine and testing for disease; and the enforcement of livestock disease control rules and regulations.Driver's License:

A valid driver's license is required

at the time of appointment .Lifting and Carrying:

Applicants must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted; and objects weighing over 40 pounds assisted by another person and/or use of equipment (e.g., hoisting equipment, hand truck), with or without reasonable accommodation.Special Requirements:Incumbents may be required to travel to neighbor islands.Some positions require incumbents to assist with necropsies.The information provided above represents a summary of the
