Marcus Autism Center, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding, and Emory University School of Medicine are conducting a search for an outstanding developmental pediatrician with specialization in the field of autism and related developmental disabilities to provide clinical care, research support, and clinical training at two locations in Atlanta, Georgia.Our Developmental Pediatrician will focus on providing clinical care at both locations but will also have opportunities to support research and to provide supervision of allied clinicians and clinical training for students. As part of an interdisciplinary team, this provider contributes to medical and developmental evaluations as well as follow-up care on an outpatient basis. This provider will also supervise medical support personnel and assume basic administrative oversight of both clinical areas.Successful candidates will be well-trained in either neurodevelopmental or developmental-behavioral pediatrics and will have a history of commitment to serving children with autism and their families. The position requires that candidates be license-eligible to practice as a physician in the state of Georgia.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A Developmental Pediatrician supports and enhances the mission of the Division and Children's by providing high quality patient care in an effective and efficient manner.Clinical Service:

A commitment to a model of care centered around integrated medical services, with seamless collaborations with psychology, child neurology, psychiatry, genetics, and gastroenterology, among other subspecialties at Children’s and Emory Pediatrics. Completes necessary documentation and ensures communication in a timely manner to facilitate patient care and appropriate reimbursement. Provides supervision as appropriate to allied health providers and/or nursing support staff in the clinical area. Participates in and incorporates Quality Improvement and research findings into practice.Research:

Actively supports research activities underway in the Division. Seeks additional opportunities to support and lead research efforts as time and interest allow.Teaching:

Provides direct supervision for trainees, ensuring adequate opportunities for training through teaching, patient contact, case review, and research.Administrative:

Participates in meetings/activities as required to support operations of the clinical area. Completes and maintains any additional specialty training/certifications as required by the assigned area.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Board certified and licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia.• Current DEA registration.• Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing as part of the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Professional Staff.• Excellent written and oral communication skills.• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and families and as a team member.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Employment will be through the Emory + Children's Pediatric Institute.
