As the Development and Fundraising Manager, you will have the opportunity to plan and execute all aspects of fundraising, event planning, marketing, communication, and donor engagement for Rainier Valley Leadership Academy (RVLA) by connecting with existing and new donors.

AN EFFECTIVE TIME MANAGER AND CLEAR COMMUNICATOR. You balance time in and out of the office to ensure all tasks are complete. You practice active listening skills and take pride in your communication both verbal and written.

A PROBLEM SOLVER AND RESOURCEFUL. You identify challenges and analyze issues to create effective strategies. You leverage the resources at your disposal while being creative in uncovering new methods for getting things done.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

Within the first 30-60 days:

- Reviews scholar profiles to grasp RVLA's impact and develops genuine storytelling. Begin engaging with donors by sending introductory messages to all current donors.

- Assesses the website specific to donations and development and identifies changes to propose to optimize donor reach. Become familiar with the Donor Engagement Plan.

By 30 days, presents a development plan to the CEO including strategies to identify, cultivate, and acquire new donors through targeted outreach, campaigns, and networking opportunities, outlining goals for the year.

By 60 days, develops a comprehensive marketing campaign highlighting RVLA's mission, vision, and is executing on the engagement plan with 5+ people in the pipeline.

3 months and ongoing:

- Has connected with the RVLA greater community consisting of Board Members, staff, faculty & volunteers. Establishes and monitors goals for the CEO and board members with potential funders, ensuring regular communication, note sharing, and follow-up to nurture relationships.

- Oversees the development of marketing collateral and utilize diverse channels to enhance RVLA's brand visibility and engagement. Is managing social media accounts in partnership with the Dean of Community Engagement with a content calendar planned for the next 6 months.

- Collaborates with the CEO to establish donor meeting goals, organize acquisition events, set quarterly

fundraising targets, implementing strategies to secure $200k in financial support in the first quarter.

6 months and ongoing:

- Maintains ongoing engagement with donors through surveys, school updates, and event invitations, while providing monthly updates on goal achievement to the CEO and Board, including scripting and tips for effectiveness.

- Establishes critical paths for tasks and projects to ensure consistency and provide a framework for achieving current and future goals.

- Implements, and manages fundraising campaigns and initiatives to secure $450-465k for the next quarter in financial support for the organizations mission.

9-12 months and ongoing:

- Manages fundraising campaigns to secure quarterly financial support while increasing annual touchpoints by 10%.

- Is completely immersed and passionate about finding opportunities to broaden RVLA's mission and connect with individuals, corporations, and other entities with the impactful work RVLA is doing with scholars. This is reflected and measured by the successful achievement of fundraising goals being achieved, and a thoughtful plan on how to continue & increase giving the next year.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:• 3+ years' experience in fundraising and donor development and / or marketing roles, with a track record of successful fundraising campaigns and marketing initiatives required• 1+ years' experience conceptualizing, planning and implementing special events required• Demonstrated understanding of digital marketing trends, social media, & traditional marketing channels required• Proven experience in planning and executing public speaking engagements required• Demonstrated working knowledge of Individual, Private, Corporate, & Foundational giving required• Proven experience working with donor management software and CRM systems required• Demonstrated experience writing grants a plus• Possesses strong communication skills both verbal and written required• Ability to clear fingerprints & background check with Puget Sound Educational Service District required• Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred
