Civil Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Detroit, MI, is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join its team of highly skilled trial attorneys. This position is ideal for individuals interested in civil litigation, looking to thrive in a dynamic and challenging legal environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing all phases of litigation and must demonstrate a proven track record in state and federal court procedures.Duties:Manage a diverse civil litigation caseload.Conduct thorough legal research and draft comprehensive legal documents.Engage in all aspects of discovery processes.Take and defend depositions effectively.Interact professionally with expert witnesses.Prepare for and attend court proceedings.Handle motion practices, including drafting, filing, and arguing motions.Collaborate with other attorneys to strategize on complex legal issues.Provide regular updates to clients on case progress.Ensure compliance with all legal standards and regulations.Requirements:Licensed to practice law in Ohio and Michigan (strongly preferred).1-3 years of civil litigation experience in state and federal courts.Demonstrated experience in handling discovery, depositions, expert interactions, and motion practice.Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.Proven track record of litigation success and strong advocacy skills.Excellent organizational and time management skills.High professional ethics and personal integrity.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Must be a member in good standing of the bar in at least one state.
