with Python experience to join our growing team!As a .NET Developer, you will assist in developing open source solutions, participate in design reviews, conduct code reviews, create test plans and participate in testing reviews, and resolve moderate defects. This position will help in supporting the designs, documents, reviews, and maintenance of the components of software solutions for USDA NRCS conservation financial assistance Information Technology (IT) products and services.The role operates in a SAFe based Agile environment and requires an understanding of the full software lifecycle, including DevSecOps implementations, Software Development, System Integration, and Cyber Security related to Financial Management systems.Responsibilities:Provide guidance and structure for creating and maintaining software infrastructureDevelop, test and deploy code (primarily using MS Visual Studio in .NET and C# environment) with an emphasis on both front-end methodologies and server-side programmingDesign and develop web services components for cross-application solutionsInteract with system designers and provide feedback on design modulesPerform testing on developed code (initial and regression)Coordinate and prioritize application modifications and bug fixesParticipate and contribute to a team approach to software development and problem solving using Agile/Scrum practicesWork well as part of a development team including across System and Business Analyst teams as well as other development teams.Location:

Metro AreaEducation and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, I.T., or similar degree10+ years of overall I.T. experience7+ years hands-on experience writing, debugging, testing, and documenting Web ApplicationsCandidates without a college degree will be considered, but must have at least 10 years of relevant development experienceExperience writing Python scripts in a software development environmentPrevious experience as a development lead or significant development team memberStrong problem solving skills and ability to generate high quality codeExperience with service-oriented architecture and web application/services developmentMicrosoft .NET, C# and ASP.NET software development experienceExperience with web services technologies such as SOAP, HTTP, WSDL, XSD and RESTExperience with ORMs (NHibernate/Entity Framework)Experience with object-oriented JavaScript programmingExperience with cross-browser DHTML and HTML5 web designFrontend web developer experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript (jQuery)AJAX, DHTML/XHTML, JavaScript development experienceDevelopment experience with GIS software toolsExperience with SQL, RDBMS (preferably SQL Server), and database principlesExperience with source code management tools (Subversion preferred)Strong written and verbal communication skillsComfortable in Agile Development Methodology, especially ScrumObject Oriented design and implementation experienceKnowledge of configuration management practicesMust be a US citizen, candidates must be able and willing to get USDA clearancePreferred Skills/Qualifications:Knowledge of Codebeamer – Web-based team collaboration and project management toolExperience designing for virtual configurationsExperience in full software development life cycle development (requirements gathering through development and test to maintenance)Knowledge/experience working with access control systems
